Tire Question

So, as part of my pre-ride checks, I look over my tires for damage, nails, wear, etc. My front tire (Rosso II) is very close to replacement at just over 9000 miles, but I noticed an odd wear pattern. The clutch side of the tire is worn much more than the brake side.

Is there any explanation for this? Anything I should be looking out for? Anything I should be worried about?

This is what I heard:

roads usually are convex and since we ride on the right side we're always climbing upwards to the left....

Left hand turns are on average longer than right hand turns..... 



Then again it could be your bike or your ergonomics.

You can usually see up the road better on a left, as well, so you'll tend to run a bit harder.

Most folks also favor turning one direction over the other, right handed tend to favor left hand turns.

Gone other thing that most people do that they are unaware of is sit slightly to one side. Few of us are truely symmetrical and lean a little to one side. The bike will automatically adjust for us!

I think I may do this. I have the Eat Sleep Ride app. It has a lean angle readout and when I review my ride, I notice that even on straights, no matter how well I position my phone, it shows at least a little lean...

Correction, I was half asleep. Yep road camber will do it, the convex shape aids water runoff (our roads are quite convex). Over here the wear is on the RHS of the tyre because we ride on the LHS of the road.
SInce the tyre is nearly done I would also look for scalloping and if there is change it.

No scalloping, just the difference in wear on one side vs the other.
