does anyone know the size of the 3 thin bolts that hold the plates in place when dismantling, or rebuilding, the clutch on aptc semi slipper clutches fitted to numerous post '05 s2r monsters and others.
i am sure any similar length bolt will do the trick and should be obtainable from a good fastener supply company ?

at a guess they are about 3mm dia and 80mm long, but i am not sure so any help in the actual size would be much appreciated
thanks in advance

Here you go.  These were purchased a few years ago - no knobs like the factory manual pic, but work just fine with a socket to tighten.

M3 threaded rod 45mm in length with an 8mm shoulder deal to tighten up.  Seems to be hardened steel.  Should be easy to fab something up if you're handy.

You can do the job without these, but it's a bit fiddly.

Do you have a plan to hold the non-standard diameter basket steady?  Special tool for that, too.

thanks for that BK...
it has a very fine thread, and is way shorter than i expected
should be very easy to knock up

and the basket holding tool, it's yet to be identified, any idea what it looks like ?

Fine threads indeed and a little M3 nut threaded right on there.

The basket holding tool is shown below installed.  It's a big sexy piece of billet aluminum that fits over the primary gear shaft.  The job can be done without it I suppose, but know that the basket is smaller diameter than the other clutches so standard tools won't work.

There's a nice long thread somewhere here on S2R800 clutch damage from about 3-4yrs ago.  Some examples of other tricks to hold the hub shown there.  I didn't want to mess around and bought the factory tools, to help make sure the job was 100%.  FYI, my large clutch nut was barely more than finger tight when I went in there - no symptoms - caught it just in time I guess.

yep i have seen several threads, it's an all too common failure   :(

i'll have to wade through them all yet again to try to try down a DIY hub hol ding methods. i guess a 'finger tight' nut does have it's advantage where this is concerned   lol

just for the record and for any others that want to get their own basket holding screws:
They are 3mm shaft dia with a pitch of .5mm
Thread length is 16mm and overall length is 63mm.
Hope that helps you all
