Hey you all i picked this jacket up from newenough and for the summer months i have to say its the best investment i have made so far.  I rode in to work today, a 45minute commute, wearing it and i swear it was like standing in front of a refrigerator.  It's only 64$ and i figured i would let you all know about it.

There is CE armor in the shoulders, elbows and back.  It fits really nice and is so amazingly light you feel like your wearing nothing.  Check it out!!!

I need me something like that, I don't trust my old joe rocket mesh jacket.

If you search the forums someone has actually crashed in this jacket too and they said it held up great no road rash at all.  The had managed to break their femur if i remember correctly.  The rider stated it was a very serious accident so its nice to know i can have faith in this jacket.

Pak for the low price of 64$ i think its worth having faith in a new jacket [roll]

I got one of those last summer. I'll probably be wearing it this weekend seeing as how it's supposed to be the inferno.

I was gunna buy some stand alone ce armor to stuff in an armorless jacket I have, so now I still get armor and a free mesh jacket...its not like I can wear both at the same time.

I just HAD to snag one of those - even if I may be bike-less for a while.

Thanks for the heads-up on this!!

Purchased one too. Good find Ben. When are we going to test them out?

I picked up the silver thought the red was too gaudy for my tastes, just TOO much red for me to handle [laugh].  Didn't really see it matching having black pants and a relatively white helmet.

Next week any day after work my friend just say the word or that weekend works too!

PS i realized since this jacket is so light and small it will be good for the winter if you throw a snowboard jacket over it, or really any winter sport jacket that blocks wind.  When it gets cold i promise to test it out for you all [bacon] [bacon]

Grrrly

I picked up that same jacket last year from newenough for $39, it was cheap I think because it's the black/white with orange stripes one, sorta HD colors.  But the orange is bright and theres reflective on it, it's a great jacket for the price.  I wear it everyday to commute.

haha hey glantern i totally saw you on your 1098... didn't know it was you until i saw the pictures of you and your jacket... nice gear man

on a side note, i've been using the RevIt Air (i got it in gray) since March, definitely more pricey than the Teknic, but I highly recommend it... it's a great mesh and has some nice extra features like the ability to zip or clip onto pants or your belt, but at this price I may grab a Supervent afterall!  that is after my damn waiver comes in the mail...  :-\

Thanks again for the heads-up on this jacket.

Mine came Saturday at about 1:30.  At 2:30 I was on the bike on my way up to the nothern part of the Bronx.

The sizing is a little funky, like I had to cinch up the snaps on both arms to lash down the armor.  However I say it's a great jacket because I didn't even notice it on that ride.  It was probably only 20 - 25  miles up and back, but through everything NYC roads can throw at you.   Didn't have to mess with it ONCE!  It really felt like I wasn't wearing a jacket, but knowing I had full armor was a major confidence boost.  NO WAY would even perforated leather be cool enough this weekend!
