1996 m900 clutch slipping after install of brand new barnett clutch after 2 mont

I REPLACED CLUTCH SLAVE, CLUTCH SPRINGS, CLUTCH PLATES W BARNETT IN MY 1996 DUCATI MONSTER M900, 8 WEEKS AGO, AND HE CLUTCH IS BEAT AND SLIPPING LIKE I NEED A NEW CLUTCH AGAIN. I JUST ORDERED ANOTHER CLUTCH PLATE KIT AND I AM GOING TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ELSE TO DO? Does anyone know why the problemmight be? I don't ride the bike hard...but after just 2 months, the barnett clutch has to be replaced...is this common?

Based on your previous issue with the clutch pushrod length, I'd recommend getting the right length pushrod.

If it is too short, your clutch will not fully disengage, which will wear the plates much faster than normal. The ball bearing "fix" you mentioned in your other posts is at best a bandaid.

Not sure of the referenced other problem but

if the pushrod length is too long the clutch will not be fully engaged and can slip.

If the pressure plate is not on right it can slip

If the pack is assembled incorrectly it can slip

Have you looked at the plates to see if the material is worn out? If it is then you probably have something assembled wrong or doing too many burn outs. A barnet clutch is not the best clutch pack but you should get plenty of miles out of one so I think something is not right.  Look the parts over and look for signs of what might not be right then ask and or measure to find the problem.

Add to the above that it'll be a cold day in Hell before I install another set of Barnett clutches in anything because they outright SUCK and you might get somewhere.  Get an OEM clutch pack or a set of Ferodo clutches and try again.  make the beast with two backs Barnett.
