intake valve closeing shim not coming off

adjusting valves today, why not, heads are off. intake shims on both heads wont come off. was going to replace valce guid seal and clean area.
let alone 3 out of 4 valves in tolerance, 1 at .002  [bang]
Will trade toilet paper for parts

Opener shims sometimes will walk around, and leave a burr on the valve just below the tip.
Then the closer hangs up when it's almost to the end of the valve.
Remove with a bit of fine sandpaper.

did that, thanks for the info. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt a sign of other not so simple or good things [bow_down]
