Front Wheel Bearings

I had the front wheel off of my 1100 evo and while inspecting the bearings I noticed that I was unable to spin the inner race. I was under the assumption that I should be able to rotate them. A little background info: bike has just over 2k miles and there was no sound coming from the wheel when riding. Also, the wheel spins easily when on a stand.

After digging around a bit, I found that the new Multi's bearings on the front wheel act the same way with no movement. They share the same bearing with the Monster and I assume several other models. Considering all things point to the bearings being in good, working condition I was curious if this was in fact the nature of the beast.

The inners should spin on any sort of normal wheel bearing. Perhaps they just need a little more force to rotate than you're expecting?

On some wheels the spacer between the bearings can fall out of position, and thus impair rotation.

Try inserting the axle, and see how that does.

I'm just wondering if the amount of force to rotate the inners is beyond the force I'm able to supply. For instance, on my 695 I could spin them with two fingers but the 1100 is not even thinking about moving.

I've looked over the wheel spacer and bearings and haven't seen one thing that could be suspect. I have reinstalled the wheel a couple times and it spins smooth every time.
