Well I have an 01 s4 916. Thing is such a pain, got it going for the first Time this year and it runs great dosent miss a beat.  Shut it down go inside and come back out the immobiliser blinks 3 times fast.  Then stays on,.  Ok what ever leave it over night. Same thing in the morning.  I order a replacement immobiliser box. Now I get three slow blinks. But atleast the constant blink is back on now.   Help me out here guys. I want to sell this thing but sure cant when it's not running.

Any one have any ideas?  Or a point the right direction. Loved the bike untill it turned into my problem child

did you replaced the dash AND keys or only the dash? Have you checked if the antena is still glued to the ign awitch cover?

It's an 01 so it has its own stand alone box for the immobiliser. It's not built into the dash

IIRC, three pulses indicate the key may be defective. Do you have the second key and if so, does it behave similarly with that key?

Also, is there any marrying procedure?

Coreysfrustrated

I have all three keys. The black keys blink once I believe. I'll check again tonight.   And I'm unsure of how to marry was hoping some one would stear me in that direction

Speeddog

Three blinks indicates that the Immo does not recognise the key.

One blink indicates a failure in the wiring connection between the ECU and Immo.

In one post you say three blinks, and in another you say one.

Which is it, and with which key?

Red key does three slow blinks With the replacement immobiliser.

So I just went out reinstalled the old one.  Put the key in 4 fast blinks them boom let's me start it.  So now it runs I didn't do anything. Is this permanent?

Will it start with the black key?

If so, you had a connection issue, most likely with the antenna, and now the new immo box isn't married to the ecu so it doesn't recognize it.

Permanent? Nothing is forever bro. ;D

Must have been.  And yes starts with all three keys.

But if I recall that immobilizer light normally blinks for 2 days after its started?   But now I don't get any blink once it's shut off.

I still will only ride this thing for fun. Can't take it anywhere because I don't trust it to start!   Never thought I'd say this but my Harley is more reliable
