M900ie Layshaft Seal - correct socket/part numbers?

Hey Everyone!

After a 3 day tour last Fall, I noticed the telltale signs of the layshaft seal leaking on my 2000 M900ie.  I am getting prepared to replace it but wanted to confirm the socket size, part numbers, etc.

All 3 castle nuts on my Monster measure 21mm in diameter.  Since this is the layshaft pulley, I cannot use a wrench that slips over the outer edge of the pulley due to the metal flange on the layshaft pulley.

I found these options on eBay:
Option 1 This option is specifically made for the Monster.
Option 2 This option says it fits the 748, 916, 996 and Monster 900.  Same company, shipping is cheaper?
Option 3 Same company, socket for the 748 with the wrench to hold the pulley.  Will this work on my M900?  The 748 is an 18 toothed pulley, same as the M900...

Are there other options besides these tools?

For the replacement parts, I found the following part numbers:

Castle Nut: 72944.1542
Washer:0797.69.040
Layshaft Seal:93785.1830

Does this seem reasonable?

Option 1 and option 2 are the same part, but one is standard shipping and the other is expedited shipping.

Option 3 will allow you to hold the pulley while you deal with the nut.
I use a very similar tool, but it's the OEM Ducati one.

Those nuts are quite tight, it's very helpful having the extra support of the handle on the socket.

The 748, 916, 996 and M900 all use the same size nut.

Awesome, thanks Speeddog! [thumbsup]

I think I'll go with Option 3 as the holder and socket together would be preferred at this point.  I just wanted to be sure since I found the wording of each listing to be confusing.

On to ordering the parts...

Need to get this sorted on my bike also.
Hopefully next week.
Belt replacement at the same time.

Getting the wire ring off of the layshaft is a special kind of fun.

Stay calm, have a beer, be persistent, and don't lose your shit and bend it.
