Are the S2R and S4R swing arms the same
Have a project in mind with my 01 900ss, looking to make it a monster, have all i need but frame and swing arm
was entertaining ssswa. found a cheep S2R frame, and an S4R swing arm with all parts but wheel

They are, at least in '06 they were according to Ducati.

First year S4R had it's own part#, and first year S2R800 had it's own number that was then used across all S*R models for several years.

S4Rs and S4Rt had slightly different part number, most likely because they were black instead of silver.

And the later models had again a slightly different part number.

I don't think there's any significant differences between them, the interfacing parts are the same other than cosmetic /non-functional differences.

Oddly enough, I happen to have both S2R800 and S4R swingarms in the shop from '05 models.
Both have the same part number on the front casting.

Ther's a slight visual difference on the welding, but IMO that means nothing more than a different welder or batch.
