Maybe, maybe if the 'wool' is damaged. Not really if it's packed correctly and still intact. IME (with Termis though)

I don't know... how much are a set of DBK's? It might be worth a try, you have little to lose.

I've seen damage to CF cans when the packing went bad without DB killers installed.
With good packing it's a non issue.
