Nice! Your paying for the maps and getting the unit for free.

Having just read the specs for the nuvi, I see why. Its not WAAS enabled.

Still a darn good deal. My 2 1/2 year old  handheld Legend C is a relic compared this NUVI. It only holds 24mb of data. And it has cost me 3x as much over the years if I factor in software upgrades.

Nor does it have a headphone jack.

But the cheapest 'motorcycle' zumo 400 is five times that cost... guess you have to weigh the options

DC, I haven't figured out how to get it to record where I've driven so I can't download routes onto my computer or vice versa.... does it not support that?

I have the Nuvi 350 from last year so they may have changed it.... but pretty sure they don't include the ability to create routes prior (using waypoints on your computer) or to have it record and download routes (i.e. have it remember where you went all day). Those are features that you need to upgrade to the Zumo to use. I can't imagine them including all of that for $100 because there would be virtually no reason for anyone to buy the Zumo at 4-5x the price.

As for other points mentioned...
1. WAAS is unnecessary and a big battery drain (important if you don't hardwire it into your bike); I have it switched off so if it doesn't have it, no big loss.
2. It is not waterproof but I have ridden in light rain and it has survived; I treat it as a cell-phone in that regard (i.e. don't drop it in a puddle)

IMO it's a great buy for basic navigation and always making sure you can find your way home, but it's cheaper than the far superior Zumo for a reason... I don't regret buying one but at times I wish I had more features.

Geez, trying to replace me with technology. But that device won't tell you how good or bad Rt. 18 vs Rt. 7 on the way back from Ohio. Or Rt. 18 to Rt. 311 into New Castle, VA vs Rt. 615. Replace me with technology indeed!
