Hey everyone, do any of you use the AT&T U-verse service?  Right now I pay around $150/month for Cable TV and Internet Access from Charter Comm.

That price includes your run of the mill channels, HD TV service , a DVR and 1.5Mbps download speeds for Cable Internet.

I can get the same from AT&T for about $100/month with their U-verse service but wanted to see if anyone here has it and what your experience is/was/has been?

Thanks!

I've had it for a couple months now. I don't watch much TV and mostly I've been watching on demand stuff all the time. I did, however, reduce my u-verse TV to the minimum (family plan) a couple weeks ago but I've yet to see the effects. I still get all the premium channels that I got when I signed up for the top package since I got my first month for free. I just hope they're not still billing me for it since it's really freakin' expensive. But the stations come in just fine. Watch out for the pricing.

When I called them to change my service they told me that the prices listed on their adds aren't entirely honest (not their exact words). Like the Family pack on my flier was listed as $69 with internet and the Pro pack was listed as $72. Then the Elite pack is listed as $79 with internet. The catch is that the family pack and elite pack include the modem/ dvr; the pro doesn't. And by the time you pay for the modem/ dvr you've paying more than the elite pack. Double check what you're paying for. Which reminds me, I should call them back and double check what they think my service is so that I don't get a nasty surprise on my next bill...  [roll]

My internet is 6Mbps fiber optic and I don't notice any significant drops in speed at any points of time. I always hated the fluctuating speed of my cable at school.  [roll]

Thanks man...I'm gonna try and read more about their service and what I'll get exactly.  I'm really looking to just reduce my monthly bill on TV and Internet.  This afternoon when I was checking out the service I was getting about 500KB down on my Cable....now at 11:30pm at night I'm getting 4.5Mbsp...f-n bs man.

Yeah, I always hated that. Funny thing, though. Even with DSL where you're not supposed to bet bandwidth loss during peak hours my net still slowed down when I had DSL. Cheatin' bastards.  >:( I've been quite happy w/ my fiber optic now. [thumbsup]
