Our remaining kitty had a similar issue a few years ago, lost all but 3 teeth; he still plows his way through the hard stuff though.

Of course, if lili hasn't been able to digest hard food in years, that's probably small comfort.

Good thoughts out to Lily, My mothers cat had to go through this, she was a couple of years older though, sadly poor old bugger did not make it, but we knew she had a good life and she was treated like a god.

We have a Persian ('Bag') that turns 11 soon. He's healthy and all now, but I fear The Day things turn for the little guy.

Sorry to hear it!  Our gurls are still only six years old but the black one has developed serious food allergies and has to stick to a strict diet -- which unfortunately hasn't gotten through her thick little skull. Consequently, we have to buy not just freakishly expensive cat food but obscenely overpriced dog food because we can't find a way to keep her out of it (or dirty dishes, or plants, or mud tracked in the house, or, or, or...). Too bad for the dogs, as they eat it only under protest and really prefer the cheap brands.

Critters. Love 'em. Hope yours are feeling all perky again soon, BP!
