I've come up with the wholly unoriginal notion of transferring my maintenance records to a spreadsheet and using that from here out, in either Excel or Numbers on the mac...

anyone know of any pre-made templates that would be useful for this?

Here's a print screen of it:

Notice I only include the simple maintenance other than the schedule maintenance done by the dealer.

Sheet-1 is the recommended maintenance
Sheet-2 is for what i have done so far.

Any input and or suggestions are always welcome as well Grin

you cant host the spreadsheet i think since the server doesnt allow anything to be hosted. But you may be able to have someone else host it for you that has server space.

Using the spreadsheet can also be a real help in creating a printed checklist that you print out and go through at each stage. If you format it nicely enough to leave comment room etc, you can then keep them as your history to look back on things that might slip your mind if you had not noted them in the first place.

Right now I use a good ole composition notebook and jot down things.

Create a google docs one.  That's what I've done.  Mine isn't set up like that, it's more free form - but google docs works just fine.
