Question about newly installed termis
«
on:
November 13, 2008, 12:05:06 AM »
I spent this afternoon installing the CF Termis on my 696. I pulled out the db killers and fired it up, I only let it run for a few minutes because my brothers dog was freaking out. So here is my question: Is it normal for smoke to come out of them for awhile when they are new? I figure it's just burning off oils from the factory or something. Anyone else have this happen. Thanks in advance. - ryan

My dealer told me to expect something similar after I had my Termi's fitted, he said I may even get a burning smell from them, just ignore unless it get's really bad, It smoked a little after I shut the bike down, and have never done it since.

Cool. It kept smoking for a few minutes after I shut it down. Thanks!

It happens in cars as well. It's just the oil and whatnot in the exhaust packing and manufacturing material.

When I installed a LeoVince pipe on my scooter, it smoked even after the first few rides.
