Looking at photo #20 got me thinking: What are the odds that the moon is exactly the same size as the sun when viewed from earth; fits right over it during a solar eclipse? and additionally, that solar eclipses even happen at all? If that doesn't blow your mind, I donno what will.

Wow.  I never thought such great pictures of the sun could lead to such a religious discussion.   


I was going to post some silly comment joking about how the sun has some serious global warming issues but after reading the comments, there seems to be no subject that can become controversial.

It wasn't always and won't always be the same size. The moon has been moving closer ever since it was formed....

Wow. Even smaller odds that it's happening during our lifetimes!

Given the fact that the moon is moving away from the earth a little less than 4 cm/yr, I think we've got some time before it shrinks away to nothingness.
