The clip ons have a hinge on them so they can be fitted without removing the top triple. the hinge is kind of big and hits the headlight mounting bracket. sorry i dont have a digital camera or i would take a picture of the interference.
You will end up spending money to get it to work, at least that is the only way i know how. You can lower your headlights or you can buy aftermarket forks that are longer than stock. This way, the longer forks are exposed above the triple and mount the clipons on above the triple clamp.
I ended up lowering my headlight and buying a whole new set of clipons off of ebay. The clipons that i bought off ebay were cycle cat with a new triple clamp and adapters that allow you to mount the clipons on top of the triple. Unfortunately, cycle cat is out of business and I got really lucky finding what i found.
