I think I know the answer to this question, but I'll ask anyway.  I'm lusting after the new-fangled digital gauges on a lot of bikes I've seen.  Is it possible to replace the analog gauge cluster on an s2r1k with a digital setup?

Possible, but it's a mothermake the beast with two backser to actually do.  You need to pull out the internals of the gauges and hide them under the tank (they've got part of the immobilizer system in there, so you can't ditch 'em).  Once they're hidde--hopefully somewhere protected from water--you need to run wires from the gauge internals to your new digital tach.  It's not easy DIY stuff.

The gauge below is all digital except for the revs.

Hmmmm.....

This makes me wonder. My DP ECU has the immobilizer disabled. With that in mind, wouldn't swapping out to a new digital set be much, much easier?
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.

Nope.  ECU (factory/DP) needs to talk to factory dash to function properly.  There are ways around this as well ;D (but I'm not saying more at this time)

I'm ordering a race harness for my 749.. will this do the same thing, remove the need for immobilizer? I want to run a race dash with just a flick switch for the ignition.

My 749 met a wall head on and the stock dash unit got smashed. I haven't even tried starting the bike since but, I am willing to go non original as I want the bike for track use only.

Shoot Tigre a PM.  He can tell you about the Nemesis and other ways of dealing with a smashed dash.

Gawd, I love that pic sequence.   [laugh]

Spill the beans.....come on, we know you want to.  At the very least give us some sort of indication if this will be available to mere mortals in the near future.

Thanks Spidey.. will shoot him a PM now.

Tigre's expression on that last pic was kinda like mine - "WTF just happened... did I just get laid?"
