Could someone please explain how to put

animated gifs next to you your username. If it was already posted i couldnt find it.
More importantly. How do i save one to my computer, so i can stick it where i want to later.                             (a little pun intended right there)

To post the picture, you have to upload it somewhere.  We have a FAQ on posting pictures:

For an avatar (the picture next to your username), you can upload to the DMF without having to post it somewhere else first.  However, the image has to be less than 100x100 pixels. 

To set an avatar, click on the "PROFILE" button near the top of the page.

Then select "Forum Profile Information" from the menu on the left.

You can either link to a picture or browse for a file here.  Again, if the image is too large, it won't work.

Click on the "Change profile" button at the bottom and check one of your posts to see if it worked.

Feel free to PM me if you need more help, you can even forward the email to me and I can post it somewhere for you.

hahahhaha.   DP has a way with words I envy.

I was assuming it was a jiggling breast gif we've all seen and it would last half a day.

Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised at a cool new motorcycle-related gif or a Duc  desmo valve one we haven't seen.

dont worry i still havent figured out saving the avatar. When i try to save it the animation stops. Like i broke it or something.

Any kind of pop-up blockers? Sometimes those disable animated gifs. Also, make sure you're saving it as a .gif

I dunno. Mine works.

Adobe ImageReady lets you edit animated gifs per frame if that helps any.
