At the urging of IZ I'll post here.
I'll be in Austin till the 31st. The main reason is to help my sister move. However, I am scouting this area to see if I want to move my family here. I was laid-off in Oct. and I am still not working. My past experience is in Hotels/Resorts. I'm looking for anything that would allow me to provide for my family and maybe go to school. (I even brought some nice clothes if I happen to catch an interview.) I've looked on-line, but I figure my best chances are with "who you know". So, I humbly ask for any ideas. If you know of any places or people looking for great employees. Without going into too much detail, I'm 31 and have management experience. I also like to work with my hands.
Thanks in advance,
Richard

Richard. thanks for posting up and enjoy your stay in Austin! I wish that I could help with your job hunt, but I do wish you the best of luck. On a normal week I would say to show up at Ming's for bike night, but since that day has some kind of significance to some people I doubt there will be a large crowd.

dropped in on some good weather!  enjoy your stay, I don't have any connections to the hotel/resort world unfortunately, but if there's anything you need, let us know!

Nope the 848 is at home in Dallas. I had to pack a decent amount of stuff, not a good place to pack a suit

Too bad B......

For this reason I'm really looking at the Ventura Rack System....I ride the T to work everyday and this looks like a "no scratchy the painty" option that can carry my work crap.....

Well I had a great time while I was there. I did apply for a couple of positions. One for the city of Austin and one in the city of Georgetown. Both applications were for recreation positions within each city. I fell in love with Georgetown. Here's hoping something turns up! chug

Sorry..I didn't try to hook up with you and/or Bryant when you guys were in town.  I didn't read this thread until today.  First time in THCM in awhile!  I have a feeling you'll be back our way soon though!   waytogo
