Rubbing salt into their wounds? ;D

Just rub salt on the snow!

I went for a "hike", or was that a wade on the local mountains at the 1200 ft level ... in 4 feet of snow; luckily we had a warm snap with 100 mm of rain yesterday (I really prefer the snow though) and it melted the 2ft of snow at lower elevations .... to about 1 ft ....
.... all the world is yours.

i'll call them out.
it's 34 and raining today.
last night i had a layer of ice on me by the time i got home.
i was warm and dry

get rain gear for the wet (this includes snow, sleet, and rain)

get heated gear for the cold

keep good tires on, be smooth, don't overdo it.

ohh yeah, handguards help to keep the water off your hands and therefore out of your gloves.

That's not so much fun when you're 59 1/2 ....got a busted Rib, possibly a torn Rotator Cuff ,and full of Osteo Arthritis .

Hell, just trying to get geared up is more of a pain than any joy from riding in cold rain or frigid cold temps looking out for the dumbasses in their cages who sure aren't looking out for a bike in those conditions .     Dolph

i'm not that old, and i don't have that much arthritis, but i can tell you when it's going to rain/sleet/snow, when it has actually started, and when it stops. all without having to look outside. hell, i can't move my wrists without them cracking.

maybe when i get to be an old grump (i'm just young and bitter now) i'll let it stop me, but until then i'm riding.

as for the other drivers, they aren't looking for me anyways so the big difference is my ability to stop and maneuver. i just leave extra room and time for that in bad weather.
Life, alas is very drear. Up with the glass and down with the beer!
