The only hassle I've had is for an MRI that I had for a kickboxing injury.  My insurance company kept asking me if it was a work injury.

Interesting you said you had an issue with an MRI.

I had one a few months ago, prior to my shoulder surgery.

It was supposed to be a 70min session, but I only last about 16 minutes due to discomfort of the position on my shoulder. It was ungodly painful that my shoulder started having spasms and the tech kept yelling at me to stop moving, it was screwing up the pictures. I tried to explain to her that I couldn't stop the spasms and she was like, you have to, etc. I walked out. It took 3 vicodins to kill the pain after that experience.

I got a 3000$ bill for that visit.

I owe 248$ to the MRI center.

I get a 6200$ surgery and owe nothing.

But yet, I owe on an MRI???

I've been told to expect the same.  I was also told that because these companies short term invests returns are poor they need to find money elsewhere.

The one thing that has been consistent with health insurance has been that when your policy is up shop around.  Many of these companies are not interested in keeping return customers.
