good, inexpensive 7.62x39 ammo ?

I'm looking to pick up several thousand rounds of this prior to any "new administration" restrictions...for our own good of course...

I found some places on the net, the lowest was $150 per K, Golden Tiger brand. Other inexpensive ones were, Wolf, Brown Bear, Barnaul steel case.

Any FHE with any of these brands? One better thna the other or...? Just get the least expensive?

Be careful if you plan on using the steal cased wolf stuff.

it doesn't expand in the chamber and seal as well brass cases and allows powders past causing it to build up.. If you run brass threw it after maybe 50-100 rounds with out cleaning it will cause the first brass to stick in the chamber and there a pregnant dog to get out.

this happend on my brothers AK, he's a cheap shit when it comes to buying ammo.. once he got this french made .38spl. it was cheap ass wax covered junk, it stopped a revolver up in 20 rounds.  [laugh]

Have you found any Soviet surplus stocks? It's cheaper than Wolf, but you still have to watch out for the corrosive powder. I guess that's a given with any cheapo ammo.

the golden tiger isn't bad.

none of the russkie stuff now is "great", but it is infantry-quality

they've used steel case ammo for about 80 years, seems to work for htem fine..

If you really want to guarantee a ready supply then you should consider reloading. I'm putting the stuff together for a single stage, but if you really want to reload a lot then a multi stage is the way to go. It will ending up costing you about 1/3 of what good quality ammo cost and is much higher quality.

reloading 7.62x39 isn't worth it for regular shooting.  the cost of milsurp and Wolf (Barnaul, etc) ammo is so much less than the cost of the components.  You will overshoot the cost with the price of brass alone.

I have done some reloading many years ago and found it not to "be my thing". Was very boring IMO...thanx for the thought though.

Remember a few years ago when primers were very difficult to come by?  As I recall the price sky rocketed and they were not readily available...

The bastards will always find a way to twist us....
