That was likely MSR-Houston last weekend with Ride Smart...

Yep... had a good time. Turned a weekend with the in-laws into an excuse to ride the track.

My shifter pivot bolt came out 3 laps into the first session of the day so i missed everything in the morning. local dealer saved my ass by taking the part i needed off of an '09 floor model to get me goin again.

If anyone is in Angleton, TX or Anywhere near south east Houston and has any Harley, Buell or Kawi needs... Goe Harly Buell Kawi is a great stand up dealership with amazing customer service. BIG thanks to them for saving the day.

My first session was really the one after lunch. Took that session getting a feel for the shifter, adjusting tire pressures, suspension, etc. I had my instructor follow me the next session out to give me pointers on lines and body position. After a few laps, I look back on a straight and notice he's dropped back some. So I slow down and he gives me the thumbs up and I took off again.

Once we were back in the pits he yelled at me... his exact words.. "what the make the beast with two backs are you doing in level two??? Get out of here. Go play in group 4 with the racers."

I had gone with group 4 towards the end of last season as I'm still getting back into the swing of track riding after an almost 14 year absence... I told him i could have gone into 4, but decided on 2 since my brakes are shit, i'm on a 100% stock bike, with street tires... He understood.
Its sad, but until i upgrade my brakes and get some tire warmers and race tires, I really do feel like I'm giving the bike all she can take for now. The brakes are the big thing. Nothing sucks more than coming down a straight at 145 and grabbing a couple fingers of front brake only to have the lever go straight to the bar cus they're cooked....

All in all, it was a good day. My slipper clutch hates me now but it did its job for the most part. There was a little bit of backin it in to a coupld corners, but nothing too major.
