why not work on internal engine mods to get more power.
from what i know the chassis is great to begin with, it's the 95 hp that people feel isn't enough (at least those S4R owners)

also, work on better integrating the rear subframe and rearsets with the front of the bike.

you got a red bike, why not polish and paint them to match the front frame.

use the titanium termi exhaust system not the Carbon fiber, everyone has the CF be different.

I don't think I have seen an 1100 with a belly pan yet - I like that look.

Also, re: this
"Since we are not alchemist, artisans, craftsman or even master mechanics, we wanted a motorcycle project bike with lots of readily available bolt-on parts."

It seems to me there has been a proliferation of online fabricators out there (like emachineshop)- or maybe I am just noticing them more.  I would love to see someone with the resources (time, money) but without the access to the tools, experience or skill to find out just how hard it would be to get some of the parts custom made.  In other words, just go for it, and report on the process.

Either way, good luck, and I look forward to seeing the progress...

personally i recommend Motocreations or FlightCycles

yea, go to Walmart and pick up some flat black paint, you know - a trailer park theme bike  [cheeky]

Seriously, keep it performance oriented please, that is what Ducati is about for me.
I mean sure add some jewelry for the sake of bling but don't do things that lower the performance like lowering the bike, fat tires, forward controls etc. you get my drift.
Surprise us ! don't follow the crowd  [beer]
