starter clutch

i own a 99 m 750 i believe i need to replace the starter clutch and sprag," my dad is a tv repairman he's got an awesome set of tools" no but for real i am pretty good w/wrenches but im no motorcycle mech should i attempt this repair myself/ and if so i welcome any tips. thanks all [moto]

You can pick up used ones on ebay or try to shorten the spring on the one you have. No FHE but here's a "how to" page:
