Choke control lever

So, I'm still working on putting the controls on my clipons and I had my bike in the middle of the garage.  My room mate comes home and moves my bike to the side of the garage and pulls his car in.  Well he didn't check to see if any small parts were on the ground and someone ran over my choke control piece (the little piece of plastic that holds the throttle cable).     Just called the closest dealership and they directed me to the online parts catolouge.  Looks like I have to buy the whole left hand side switch.  $125!!!!     F that noise, all I need is a small piece of plastic.  If anyone knows where I can score this part please let me know or I'm going to have to figure out how to jerry rig this thing up.  Cheers!

unfortunately, i think your stuck with buying the whole set of controls, unless someone has had exactly the opposite of your experience, and had all of the control EXCEPT the lever crushed... which is unlikey...

Or someone who parts out Ducatis may have your part.  Check with m9hundo here on the board.  I believe he has a '97 that he's parting out which would have a choke lever on it.

Parts Wanted is also a good board to post in.  Myself?  I'm 90% certain I don't have an extra lying around...

Yeah, I'd bill it to him since he broke it and just get the whole thing.

For future reference, I don't think anyone sells any of the individual parts of either the left or right handlebar controls individually unless they're take-offs from something broken. You're usually stuck getting the whole thing unless you can find used bits.

Someone that switched from stock carbs to Keihins doesn't need that part anymore.  So, I wouldn't think it would very hard to source one.

Or you could just buy me some Keihins, and I'll give you mine for free.

bd - Thanks for the find.  I think I might just try that for a bit.

The roomie just moved the bike and "all the small bits".  I parked in there for two days before checking so I can't fully blame him.

I just want my bike back together incase we get another (99% doubtful) 60 degree day.  It killed me to see other bikes out and I was... in my Volvo.  Going out of town Fri-Sun so I might try to get it done Thursday after work, we'll see what happens.

Huzzah!  So good to have friends that are more mechanically incline than yourself.  A friend of mine was able to repair the broken part with Loctite super glue and random bits of plastic.  Looks and works like buttah!  Real exciting.  Now I can blow $125 on a different unnecessary part or pay my cable bill...
