Freakin' amazing!  Thanks for sharing.

I went to the EAA fly-in 20 years ago with my dad.  (Yes, I was a pilot at the age of 16.)  I think it might be time to head to Oshkosh again.  See you there???
Inara: (pissed) "What did I say to you about barging into my shuttle?"

Mal: "That it was manly and impulsive?"

Inara: "Yes, precisely. Only the exact phrase I used was 'don't'."

Never been, always wanted to go.

Alas, I gave up flying about 5 years ago  :'(
I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...

Airborne

I went this past year and that aircraft was featured very prominently. I believe it flew everyday right before the afternoon airshow.

Wow, very cool!  Did you fly in or stay on the outskirts and drive in?  I remember it being crazy busy.  The NOTAM specified radio procedure was not to talk after the tower told you what to do, only to click your compliance on the mic.  Who all was there?  Did Chuck Yeager show up?

We ended up driving in because my whole family went and we've only got two seats in the plane. We camped right there on the grounds in a huge tent. Basically following the notam you just start lining up miles out and start coming in. there are different places they start sequencing you depending on which direction you are coming in from. On the last leg theres an air traffic controller in a lawn chair calling you out by aircraft type not tail number and you wag your wings to acknowledge. Usually by that point you are getting cleared to land on one of the dots. This year only me and my dad are going so we're gunna fly.

As far as big names I watched Burt Rutan and Richard Branson speak (space ship one/ spaceship two), john travolta showed up in the 707, the comedian jeff dunham (eaa member and built a few rotorways), bud anderson wwii fighter ace tons and tons of people. The most interesting guy I met was the pilot of the martin mars fire bomber who gave a presentation about flying the phillipine mars. There were only about 15 people watching his presentation which turned out to be the one of the best of all week and I really got to find out some super cool things about that plane.
