Man, I can't believe it, I was sure he had another 20-30 growing seasons.

Old growth eastern Hemlock trees are on the way out.  These are one of the most important stately trees in our eastern forest.  We don't have the giants you guys have out on the west coast so Hemlock's along with old growth Yellow Poplars are some of out best and biggest.

Well kiss the Hemlock goodbye.  They will all be gone relatively soon.  It's a big deal to me.

We planted a load of eastern Hemlocks when i was with the landscaping company. I know there are 7 of them in my grandparent's yard. Not a huge number by any means but there are people out there making sure this beautiful tree doesn't go down without a fight...
