DEVO!

Ok My bike has been at the dealer since saturday, it was the fuel pump, I saw the invoice for the part and it was $989.00! I am buying an extended warranty my last major problem was the stator and the invoice was over $500.00 for that! geez  :o

OverCaffeinated

Damn, the price of a fuel pump should never suck more then the pump itself.

Im sorry, but isn't there enough greed elsewhere? $1000 for a fuel pump? Guess I'm just out of touch...

You realize that you can get a replacement fuel pump for 189 bucks from ca-cycleworks...I'll post a pdf on how to replace it..You should fight that bill...seriously..thats borderline fraud..

Ok here are the instructions. Its so easy the manual doesnt even describe it. its six bolts at the bottom of the tank to remove the entire assembly. Then you work on it at a bench..

You should argue the labor not the parts. I think ducati only sells the entire fuel assembly together as one part instead of the components for your 695. I cant imagine the fuel assembly being that much.. I'm heading to the dealer to pick up some timing belts. I'll see how much they are asking for the part only.

Hey you are right $189 from CA Cycleworks! I didnt have to pay for it I am still under warranty but that is just what the pump costs I think from the dealer I am not sure if that included labor or not. I guess its pretty widely known that this part is highly over priced and CA has one way cheaper. I hope they sell a million of them and no one buys the dealer part, that just sucks. I called yeterday because I lost the bolt that goes in the lower exhaust tube right behind the O2 sensor and the parts guy told me $10.00! for a tiny bolt thats less than 1/4" long? :'( I found one at home depot for $0.12 cents! cad plated too [thumbsup]
