The Art Of BMW
«

Thumbing through the April Motorcycle Consumer News I get to page 24 and what do I see? A glowing article about our very own Peter Gantriis' (Bluemoco) book, "The Art Of BMW: 85 Years Of Motorcycling Excellence" I am the proud owner of an autographed copy. For those who don't get MCN, the book can be purchased at

I have this book. Great photography, beautiful bikes, a little history and the perfect conversation starter on the coffee table. I know I'm going to get along with any new guests who are drawn to it. I was surprised to see the "boxer" engine with the drive shaft goes back to the beginning. Talk about sticking with something that works!
I'd like to see a similar treatment of other makes. There's countless Harley books but not so much on say Moto Guzzi, Honda or....oh yeah; Ducati!

Hey, thanks for the kind words, everybody!
The book's been a big success. The reviews from book buyers, BMW owners' groups, and the motorcycling press have been very flattering. We've sold over 5000 copies since it was released in mid-September. That may not sound like a lot, but it ranks
very
high for a book of this type.
Let me know if you want a signed copy! Send me a PM and we'll make arrangements.

Actually, they're on sale at
Amazon.com
for $26.40, with free shipping. I can send an autographed copy to you for only a few $$ more.

Does the book explain why BMW named the new 800cc on road twin the F650gs, and the old F650gs the G650gs?
The Amazon preview pages look stunning.

Um, no. The book doesn't cover that topic.
I'm not sure I could explain it anyway...
