T and I had a fantastic trip to ECR yesterday.  The track was very slippery the first two sessions, but started to come in by session three.  DLSGAP was also there on his bad ass ZX10.  Fortunately we were all three in different levels, and that kept the ego induced shenanigans to a minimum  laughingdp

The day was a Ride Smart event, and was very well organized.  There was not any squid-like behavior, and the entire day ran smoothly.  While Japanese bikes were the majority, there were at least 10 Ducs, several Aprilias, a handful of Triumphs, and a dramatic showing of BMWs.

My day went very well.  I learned a lot about the 1098, and am even more in love with it.  The only kink was the stock rearsets.  They suck.  Period.  They are low and very slippery.  I will not be returning to the track until they are replaced.

Very cool write-up and some great pix  waytogo

I've not been to Eagles Canyon with my bike so pardon me while I ask some lame questions  Grin

  How was the run-off area?

  Any corner workers?

Was there any shade were you paddock?

  How was their lunch situation?

  And last but not least,

Was there toilet paper in the rest rooms?  Grin  laughingdp

Glad it was a great day out there, guys.  I hope to make it out there soon (been saving my TDE money so I can run a lot more track days this year).

Lisa

P.S.  Whassup with the yellow shirt and green shirt biznit?

Fair, but better than the new track at Cresson.  Not as safe as the 1.7 though.

Was there curbing around the corners?

Yes    waytogo

  Any corner workers?

There were several, and they responded quickly to crashes

  Fire and Safety crew?

On site and ready to go!

Was there any shade were you paddock?
Only if you brought it.  I am sunburned.  We brought a 12' gazebo but were too lazy to set it up  bang head bang head bang head

  How was their lunch situation?
They supplied burgers, but I would plan on bringing food.  There wasn't anything close by either.

Yes!!  And the bathrooms were very clean.

So the insructors know who they are following that session, and for the guy doing the video.  They will follow you with a bike cam and mail a dvd for around $25.

Slag, good to put a face with the name. Thanks for not showing me what was under the kilt...

Tommy, glad you had fun. We'll hook up on the camera mount, or i can ship it to you if you'd like.

Slag...that pic of me you posted is the first one i've seen of me in which my body position isn't completely off. The photos on Hart photography's site that i've seen of me.... My form SUCKS! I'm honestly wondering if i'm going to bother with it anymore. The rare chances i get to make it to the track are so few and far between, and so much of a hassle, that i'm going to sit back and reflect for a while. There's a good chance my bike will be for sale afterwards Sad

Ha... yeah.. I admit, I would glance of that direction from time to time to see if anyone i knew was along the wall snapping pics.

if i got on it hard out of that corner, my front wheel would come up every time about 1/4 of the way down the straight... a couple of reformed stunt riders I know were along the wall and I noticed them one lap... next time around just before i got to them I whacked it to WOT and the front wheel just soared at around 100mph... I thought it was kinda funny...they were giving me a hard time afterwards though. Every other lap though.. it would come up 4 or 5 inches accelerating out of that corner EVERY lap it seemed... and that was only at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle
