first off, "yenta" is a female coming from the yiddishe word "yentl" meaning "gentle" as in kind or sweet. 

yiddishe, being a very sarcastic language, often uses the opposite of a word to insult, so you might say "Gertrude?!  She's WONDERFUL!  She's Amazing!  She makes me want to see the ALMIGHTY every day!" with a truckload of sarcasm.

Thus, yenta refers to a busybody, a nuisance, often a coarse woman who intrudes.
