Hitting GMR again this weekend before taking the bike apart for maintenance. Thinking 8:00am meet time at the Mobil on Azusa.
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!
The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

Well it's about time.  [popcorn]   I'm up for it but keep an eye out on the weather report. Looks like slight showers for Saturday.  [coffee]

Otherwise I'm in. [moto] I need to open her up a bit.  8)

COOOOOOLD!!!  :-[ Sorry if I missed anyone. My buddy from Irvine got out there at about 8:15 and we took off at 8:30. One of the sportbikes.net guys told us that the road was wet so we were wary. A little way up Azusa the road got pretty damp and the air was misty so my buddy turned around and me, being the idiot, decided to keep going.  [roll] Azusa was fine up to East Fork and the majority of East fork was fine but once you hit GMR and started climbing altitude things started to suck fast. The mistyness from the clouds started turning into sprinkle and the roads went from damp to wet. I had to open my visor to see and even then my glasses fogged up and were tinting for some reason which sucked even more. Ended up pulling over to take off my glasses since I couldn't see more than 20'.  :-\ Surprisingly enough there were 3 guys from the sportbikes.net group at the T.  After taking a few minutes to warm up I coasted the rest of GMR down to Lone Hill.

It's amazing how long that loop feels when you're cruising at 15-25 mph.  [roll]

UV iight makes them tint and clouds don't stop UV.  Mine always tint up when we go into rides at disneyland because of the UV lights.  Add cold, and they'll tint even faster and darker.

I like the scenery at GMR, but the whole stretch makes me nervous (centerline crossers and 'racers' passing in dangerous spots) and therefore I don't enjoy myself.

My fast lap is your sighting lap.

I did ACH a little later in the day with similar results. Left PI around 1 and headed up the hill. It was a little chilly but tollerable up to 5000 feet where it got coled and very misty limiting visibility. Turned around and came back down.

The roads were dry and clean up to 5000 and made for some great riding. Going up we passed a gorup of 4 or 5 Desmocedicci RRs. I have never seen that many togerther at once and the riders were all in full leathers looking like they had a spirited ride. They were on the way back down and caught behind a couple of cars going rather slow at the point we passed though.

The only bit of drama was near the bottom going up behind a guy on a BMW 1200. He at some point decided he had gone far enough and pulled a u-turn. Chose a good spot to do it to with a wide turn out on the opposite side of the road to swing into. Too bad he slowed a little too much and lost his balance. Poggoed on one leg for a few seconds then dumped the bike on its side. We pulled over real quick and helped him pick it up. Some scratches and hurt pride but other wise ok. Sucks to watch somebody just teeter over like that though.
