Hi,

I have an '04  620 and I am seeing some peeling paint on the right side (right near the oil sticker)  and on the front of the engine just below the cooling fins as well.  What have people done to remedy this (short of removing the engine and refinishing it)?

I was thinking of lightly sanding the affected areas and then painting on some sort of matching engine paint.

Anyone have any good experiences to share?

Thanks,

Do you ever paint your engine?? I'm in the same boat with my 620.

I'd imagine engine paint would do the trick...

Probably woudlnt help but there is a pretty thick clear coat on my S2R1000. so if you sprayed engine paint on top, youd be able to tell since part of it would have some sort of clear thickness to it, the other would just be engine colored. if you're looking for aestetics, then id drop the engine strip it and spray paint it, ive VHT small bits on my engine and they are looking great.

If the paint is lifting from the engine, theres no point in sanding it, you might as well strip the whole area clean it and paint it. but again, youd notice the color difference. but im pretty sure oil and grime would cover it eventually. ;)
