Hi, I just joined the forum and ofcourse I have a question :).
Just changed my belts yesterday, but when timing the engine before changing the belts I found that the exhaustcam on the horisontal sylinder was a little off.
Everything else was spot on but this one would have lined perfect up if it was turned one tooth clockwise.

So I went on with the change and left it like it was.
Its running great but I havent driven any Ducs before so....
The only thing I notice is that its somewhat jumpy on low speed in trafficjams.

Is this normal?

Great forum by the way :).

Most people change gearing to lose the bucking or jumpiness as you describe it.

I can;t say about the cam timing without seeing what you were looking at.

Ok, I can see why :).
The clutch is much harder than the one from suzuki.
But i like the mechanic feel of the ducati.

I'd still be concerned about the cams not being lined up correctly.  The marks on the cams should line up at top dead center, but if you're not comfortable with the S4's engine have a shop look at it.  "Running great" and running right may be two different things.

Will do, I have an appointment at the 17. Of june (a little late but its the first avaliable). Does anybody know if its even possible to run the engine if the cam was one tooth wrong? Or would it acctually cause an internal collission?

Most Duc engines will have an issue being a tooth off.

Yes thats what I tought also.
Went to the mechanic today and he said that it might look a little off if the timing has been adjusted before.
So I am concluding that im safe for now and will be riding as carefull as i can until my service  [thumbsup].
