Creaking coming from rear shock

Whenever I sit on my bike (2000 m900) I hear an increasingly loud creaking coming from the rear shock. It's annoying, and it happens every time I shift my weight while sitting on the bike. I can tell it's the shock or something near it because the creaking causes a tangible vibration I can feel with my finger by touching the shock when it happens.

I've tried lubing all the connections and joints, but nothing seems to help.

I'm guessing other people have seen this. What should I do?
Aftermarket: RoadRacing modified under-engine exhaust, revalved 996 forks, ProCutting half-open clutch, CC triple and pressure plate, 999 clipons, BMC filter, CRG-LS mirrors, PC3, Rizoma rearsets, heated grips, +2 teeth in rear gearing, Veypor VR2 computer, MBP collets, Yoyodyne slave, Galfer waves front and rear, misc CF (mostly faded), CRG clutch/brake levers.

The shock bushings could be dry as well as the heim joints on the suspension hoop.  The squeak may also be from the swing arm bushings.  Best way to tell where the noise is coming from is to have a buddy compress the suspension while you listen.  A mechanic's stethoscope or a long screwdriver held against the suspect part can help.  The only way to successfully lube the shock or swing arm bushings is to disassemble and reassemble.  The heim joints have grease fittings, but good luck getting a gun to fit, they are not your usual Zerk fittings and  probably won't work anyway.

Many times the shock linkage rocker will rub on the seat pan causing a squeak/creak.

Actually I have a few.  Pedro's, Finishline & WTB's.

My favorites are the Dualco's cause you can use what ever grease you want...

Depends. my fittings are stuck, so no grease gets in. 




Howie, that type of grease gun is commonly used to grease air tools.  Any reputable place that sells air tools should sell that grease gun.

If you have something wrong with your fittings IE they're clogged or frozen, then that has nothing to do with the design and is ONLY due to faulty maintenance.

Maybe you should take your bike to a reputable mechanic, I'm sure they can fix it for you.  Then those grease guns will work for you too.  [thumbsup]
