Thanks for all the replies! I need to check to see if the keys and code card are available. Also, looks like the Remus pipe has been scratched up. I believe owner has original pipes but what fun is that?  [laugh] More I think on this, I'm not so sure. For what it would take to get this one to top shape I could probably buy a nicer one ready to roll. Got to do some more research on this one.

With that thought in mind, how do the 750's compare to the 620's. I rode a 2000 750 dark with hi termis that had been massaged by Jeff Nash that I'm still kicking myself for not buying at the time.....748S swooned me a bit too much at the time!

I think the 620 will be a little better than a 750, but really to close to worry about.

When the injected 620's came out, the HP and torque figures equalled those of the carbed 750's. This is one reason the 750 went away.

then things get a little happier when you swap 750 barrels on your 620  :D

I have a 2004 M620ie and in general it's a very good bike, and the 620 motor seems to be about the most reliable Duc motor.

You  may have already made your decision but the only concern I have is that your bike has been "dropped".  One thing to check is the steering stops on the steering head.  They are easily damaged (also easily repaired) but I've heard of insurance adjusters claiming that since the stops are on the frame, a damaged stop means a damaged frame and a totaled bike as far as the insurance company is concerned.  Silly, but still it could be an issue and if the steering stop was damaged in the "drop" then you have more bargaining power on the price.  Seems like there are almost always some unwelcome surprises down the road when buying a used bike and a dropped bike is  more likely to have more surprises.  Just my 2 cents.

Just the barrels? No injectors? No repmapping? No...? Polishing?

750 barrels, FBF 11:1 pistons, already had the PCIII to fix fuelling when I did my airbox/filter/exhaust

:)

time and money will get it back on the dyno, but I haven't gotten 'round to it yet

well, bumps in displacement are always nice... but if you're going to swap, you need new pistons anyway, so I went ahead and looked into hi-comps.

the rest of the world will tell you to not waste your time or money upping the cubes in your 620. just swap for a 900, or 1000 motor (better $ per hp value, then more 'build-up' parts to be had, dry clutch, etc)

but I don't like to listen to the world  ;D i'm kind of stupid that way

that, and I'm fine w/the mid-sized motor. don't need anything bigger, but I'm curious to see how far you can take a 620... I hear you can hit 140mph w/one  ;)

the box, arrows, and PCIII had my rwhp/torque numbers on par w/the stock claimed crank numbers, so that was a nice start  [thumbsup]

so I imagine that getting the fuelling sorted after the hi-comps will be a lil'happier. it certainly feels more urgent, and sounds waaaayyyyyy better than before
