Had a great Father's day!
Got the smoker going, and had the ribs on by 11:00


By 4:00 they were falling off the bone.


Made beans too, these are the hot beans with onions, jalapenos, and, of course, extra [bacon]


One of the neighbors stopped by. I guess the ribs smelled good.


The kids were enjoying their dessert. . . .


When suddenly, an outlaw biker rode up and crashed the party!


Fortunately, we were able to appease them with cookies, and no one got hurt.

Happy Father's Day! I flew my dad out to UpState New York for the week to see his dad. Amanda, Haley and I drove up (~350 miles through the Adirondacks) and spent the weekend with them. Good times, brought home some yummy Glazier's Hot Dogs! Haven't had them in years. Ate six of them last night for dinner...

I cannot wait to see my dad in two weeks.  I miss him.  He is peaceful.  His place is peaceful.  And the beer is cold and the food is homemade (by him).  He's the best.

And yes:  Happy Father's Day to the dad's out here!   [thumbsup]

Spent a wonderful, meaning-filled Father's Day day driving down to Phoenix to pick up our daughter at the airport, after two weeks away with her father in Indiana. Two years ago I stepped into the middle of a teenage girl's life as a stepfather, and every single day am more thankful than I can express at how easy she's made it, how seamlessly she turned me into the dad I'd given up on ever becoming. Here it is, my second Father's day, and I'm sort of starting to feel like it actually applies to me.

Oh, and I got a cordless drill, so there's that...  ;D
