So I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a DP Gel seat (if I can find one) and was wondering if I can still use my seat cowl.  Read a few threads about it and couldn't see where anyone mentioned having the cowl on one.

I've been getting sore butt on longer rides and hopefully the dp will help.  I love my seat cowl so I won't be getting one if I can't use it.

Yes - it should fit

I have my stock cowl (07 S2R 1000) on the DP Gel Seat - the seat is awesome and well worth it!

Yes, it fits. Cover the seat with a towel if you're leaving it out under the sun.

It fits, but just barely. It was pretty tight getting it onto mine. And yes, it gets damn hot in the sun, even if it isn't hot out...

As stated , it will fit..... But it is tight, mine actually rubs the grab bars on the frame.
That seat will hold heat for what seems like forever. I carry a thermal blanket thing (Mylar ?) but haven't tried covering it when out in the sun as it isn hot enough here yet.

It will fit. The best way to get it on there and avoid breaking the cowl is to loosen the brackets on it, finagle it all together and then S L O W L Y tighten the brackets. Enjoy! It's a great seat for both comfort and grip. Just carry a small hand towel w/ ya to put over it if ya gotta park in the sun for any length of time. Tho I gotta say if ya wear gear (leather) which I do, you don't really feel it...

As others have stated it does fit. It's a bit of a pain to squeeze the cowl on there but it fits and looks good. DO throw a towel over it if you have to park it in the sun, and make sure that the towel is white! No dark colored towels! Best option is to not park it in the sun at all to protect any CF parts from UV damage.
