Good statement by Mladin. Twenty bucks says that just because he made this comment the AMA will claim he's using those illegal crankshafts like he did last year! Roll Eyes As if he or Yosh need to cheat. Oh yeah, then after they strip him of his win the AMA will refuse to consider his appeal. Wouldn't surprise me... wankers.

What's the difference between a 'factory" motorcycle and a 'production-based' motorcycle, as mentioned in the earlier article (embedded link)?  Factory vs privateer?

all superbikes (or, non-GP bikes) are production-based.  factory vs privateer is a matter of who's doing the development, footing the bill, supporting the team, etc.
