my question is how the hell do i change it? also i actually need a new tank due to some damage.. any suggestions on where to find a used one besides ebay? im very mechanically inclined (im actually a auto tech) but i am new to the whole ducati scene... any help is much appreciated. thanks guys

Don't know about the fuel pump on the newer bikes but for the tank you can try the parts for sale section here. I see that one guy has a tank from an '02 620 that needs paint but isn't dented. I think all the FI tanks are interchangeable but I'm not positive on that.
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!
The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

You find a friend with long skinny arms.  You have to remove the whole gas cap and reach way down in there to pull it out.  Recommend using a new gasket on the gas cap too.  It is so much easier to put back on than an old one.

And gasoline resistant skin ;D

All metal Monster injected tanks are interchangeable.  An alternative to a used tank is ride until the off season, then send the tank here to come back better than new with custom paint:

Look for an ET...

It's a hassle of a job. Technically pretty easy, just fishing around in the tank is a PITA.  To get the right bend in your arm you have to work blind most of the time.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
