A quick look at my recent trip to Nova Scotia:

Left New Brunswick on my '97 750 Monster with a buddy, KTM sumo.  We circled counterclockwise around Cape Breton, headed for Halifax and cut back to New Brunswick.  Trailered the bikes and headed back to NJ.  They'd had a harsh winter so a lot of the twisty roads of Cape Breton were beaten up/ under construction.  Otherwise it was a great trip with amazing landscapes and incredibly hospitable locals.

Hi DSH. Nice pics! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed visiting our part of the world. Grin

We're pretty fortunate to have some terrific riding roads in my backyard. I live about 3 hours from Cabot Trail and try to get to Cape Breton a few times each summer on the bike. The winter freeze/thaw cycle can be brutal on the road conditions which results in a local joke that the Maritimes has 2 seasons: "winter" and "road repair".

Just a heads up to anyone thinking of visiting Nova Scotia that there is a free moto-specfic publication called Motorcycle Tour Guide Nova Scotia. Lots of good info in there with places to stay, eat, roads to ride, bike shops, etc. I grab one every year and keep it in my tank bag.

Hi Mark, yes was a great time w/ breathtaking landscapes.  You're not kidding about the 2 seasons, there were a number of spots along the Cabot trail that need some TLC.  The motorcycle tourguide is definitely helpful for charting routes for a trip, personally I found the restaurants and other points of interest listed to be a bit too touristy.  Next time I head up there I'll have to ping you to get the inside scoop on the local diversions.

I agree that the tour guide lists a lot of touristy points of interest, but it's comprehensive and is pretty good for planning a route. Plus it's free. Smiley

If you ever end up in the area again give me a shout and I'll happily give you some recommendations for must-sees, great roads, etc. Consider it a standing offer.
