696 OEM mini signal light problem

I'm on my second set of OEM mini signals for my 696 and I can't get them to light. I have the resister packs snapped in and the mini lights plugged into the packs. Seems simple enough, Rather than call Commonwealth again and talk to Anthony, (nice guy), I thought I'd ask you all and see if there is something I am doing wrong and or help me problem solve this seemingly simply project. I don't have a test light but I did check fuses and I plugged in the original signals and they light, which I think is a fair enough test from the stock wiring. I've got red to red and black to black so is it possible there is a bad batch? Any and all info and suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Stupid me. I should have known that red goes to black and black goes to red. I guess I'll keep the second pair! Actually this may be helpful to some of you in the future.
