In addition to wearing a bands T-shirt, if you're a real fan wear one from a prior tour you saw.
If you don't have a T-shirt for the band you're going to see, wear one for the most obscure band you have.Both are great for starting conversation with other fans and leads to making friends.

one of kathy's friends views it as a competition. if nobody else is wearing that bands shirt he "wins"
if someone else is wearing a more obscure band they win.

the guy is a complete music snob too. it's fun to screw with him by telling him things like "i only listen to what's ont he radio because the best stuff is always put on the radio."
