traffic lawyer recommendation - denver area
«

Did a quick search but didn't come up with anything.
Anyone have a traffic lawyer they have good luck with? Got nabbed for 73 in a 50 taking the Pena exit to the airport from E470. Speed limit magically drops from 70 to 50mph on the "frontage road". Also, court date is on a Friday at 7:30pm. WTF?
Anyone know how much this might cost for the lawyer?
Thanks.

I don't know of a lawyer... but I do know a little about night court.
No DA will be there to bargain with. They will already have a deal for based purely on your speed and officers +/- of your attitude. You can accept the deal they will offer you (probably 4pt instead of 6pt and would expect around $300 fine). If you plead innocent then you will have to reschedule. You plead guilty you accept their offer and you're done. Doubt the judge will be there, most likely a magistrate.

I agree with everything that Spicoli wrote. What he experienced is what I experienced. I remember everything getting cut in half though. If you had a 6pt. ticket the court would accept a guilty plea for 3pts. If it was 4pts, you got 2pts. I could be wrong, that is what I remember.
It is up to you, but I would recommend taking the guilty plea. Going to trial is a losing proposition, a suckers bet, just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input.
I can deal with 3-4pts. and I think titty answered my question as to whether an innocent plea is a good idea or not.
Are you required to make a payment then and there?

payment after court. I believe they have payment options if needed (but I think it costs more inthe long run). Also, from what the magistrate was saying, if you plead innocent, you will not be offered the deal again. Basically, don't waste their time and they will give you a deal. Unless you really have a good reason or feel you have a great angle that you might be able to get off with it, then I would go
guilty
