Happened just a few miles from my work.  Humanity is on a downward spiral.  You can't fix someone like that. Held on $1 million bond.

Humanity is on a downward spiral.

Two examples within five miles of me within the past two weeks:

1. Undercover plainclothes cop tails a guy and a friend in unmarked car around the little town I'm closest to. Follows into apartment parking lot and blocks in, gets out and confronts the driver about some erratic driving, never revealing who he is or that he is law enforcement. The two get in a scuffle, the "perp" gets the cop down on the ground then suddenly spots a badge on his belt and immediately jumps off with his hands up. Cop pulls his sidearm and shoots the guy three times in the chest, killing him on the spot in front of several horrified witnesses.

2. Older, semi-mentally unstable man takes female neighbor, whom he is infatuated with and has been for months, and her 4-year old daughter on what they thought was a trip to town. Little girl ends up dumped along the side of the road in the middle of the night near a local lake (alive, thank goodness), the mother is stabbed to death and left to be found in the local cemetery and the man goes home and offs himself.

Until all this, the most that ever happened around here was someone had too many and ditched their pickup and got a DWI. Or there was a minor brawl at the bar late at night.

Heard about this over the weekend.  Happened down in San Antonio.  Thought it was better not to post. 

I think its beneficial to know than not know.
