Need Advice

I have a 2007 S2R1K.

I went riding on Friday, nothing long about 65 miles. It was about 84 degrees outside and the engine temp was about 229. When I downshifted, clutch in, I bliped the throttle and nothing happened. It was like you twist it when the bike is off. So I blip nothing happens, but when I blip again the rpms go up as if everything is normal. This happened about 3 times. I never had this happen before where I downshift with clutch in blip and there is no power but I blip it again and everything is normal. I have about 1,050 miles on the bike right now.

Anyone know what would cause this? Should I be concerned or is this something that happens occasionally.

I'd be concerned if my throttle wasn't acting 100% like I expected.

Though I don't have any super insightful thoughts, here's what I do have:

First I'd:
- Check for too much free play in the cable
- Check for any binding that might cause sticking
