2009 Monster 696 - fork dampening

I find that on rough road surfaces the fork action is so stiff that my hands are jarring on the grips.  I can find no adjustment for these forks.  I thinik they are Showa.  I just do not need this stiff a ride.  Any suggestions.

there is no adjustment on the front fork of the 696.
