Need a cheap alternative to Ducati IAT Sensor

I'm working out some fueling issues and need to know if there is a place I can buy the Intake air temp sensor (IAT) that goes into the horizontal cylinder intake port.

I'm assuming its not an official ducati part. I havent checked but I'm also assuming that its mega bucks at the Duc dealer.
Anyone know where I can get one?

Also, anyone know how to check one of these to see if its functioning properly? I have a multimeter and it looks like the connection is a 2 pin. Do I need to provide power? Is it a simple resistance measurement? What range should I expect?

I dont have a VDSTS so I cant read this info from the ECU.

PS I have an 05 S2R 800
Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, your bike has an air temperature/pressure sensor behind the headlight and another temperature sensor on the horizontal cylinder.  The 696/1100 Monsters with the new Siemans injection have the sensor you are talking about.  Do you have a photo?

One in the horizontal cylinder as noted..I did some research and it seems like its just a piece of metal that changes resistance based on heat. Seems like this really wouldnt go bad. I had an extra one or the temperature / pressure sensors for the one behind the headlight. I already swapped that out.

Just more curious about the one in the cylinder and how to test it with a meter.

The manual does not give individual specs since all that is built into the VDSTS.  Your best bet would be either compare readings with a known good sensor or find someone with a VDSTS.  You could take it to the dealer, but, obviously that would cost money.  A new part will cost about $95, quite a bit to spend on a hunch.
